POSITION 1: BACK-OFFICE NETWORK ENGINEER

ROLE PURPOSE:

• To provide software and hardware second line support for Operator Voice Core network elements which includes but is not limited to Ericsson MSC-S. Ericsson MGW, Ericsson HLR, Ericsson HSS, Huawei SBC, Huawei IMS Node Elements, NTP/CBC, etc… and also perform software configurations and correction analysis on the circuit core nodes.
• Then, Faults resolution related to all the Core Network Elements
• Continuous monitoring and review of Key Performance Indicators of all Core nodes
• Handle the actions to maintain good Core Nodes Availability
• Analyse and recommend actions on Core Network Congestion
• Moreover, Provide RCAS where applicable
• Liaise with Vendor support teams to resolve network faults
• Fraud report analysis from revenue Assurance
• Switching nodes Software Rollout
• Delivery of ad-hoc work-related requests
• Delivery of regular reports & presentations
• Node Capacity Audit and recommendations
• Interconnect and International trunk issues handling
• Roaming Complaints handling
• Finally, Integration of other nodes (RAN, CCN, SMSC, IN, etc) into the Core Nodes

• Support Back Office and Customer Planning and Operations

KEY OUTPUTS/METRICS

1. O&M, Operations – Faults resolution and RCAS.
2. Equipment Vendors CSR Escalations
3. RA-Provide remedy/solutions to fraud
4. MTN Ghana Business – Core Network Availability for customer access

PEOPLE INTERFACES:

1. Front Office, Back Office – Complex Fault and Quality Escalation resolution.
2. Planning Customise network design, and rollout. solution requests,
3. Equipment Vendors- SW & CSR updates
4. RA-Fraud complaints 5. IT Capacity Requirements feedback

ESSENTIAL ROLE-RELATED KNOWLEDGE,

TECHNICAL SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:

• BSc Electrical/ Electronics /degree /Diploma (Telecommunications) and or a related Computer Engineering Degree/ Diploma
• Five (5) years in the GSM/WCDMA industry with at least three (3) years ofhands-on experience in core network operations, maintenance, and software upgrades in the Ericsson environment.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

• Firstly, In-depth knowledge of network system technologies (GSM, WCDMA, IP networks, etc…)
• Secondly, In-depth knowledge of wireless network protocols (ISUP, MAP, BSSMAP, BICC, SIP, INAP, CAMEL, etc…)
• Thirdly, In-depth knowledge of the software & hardware structure of Ericsson AXE, CPP, and TSP platforms Data
• Furthermore, In-depth Knowledge of IP and Networking
• Moreover, In-depth knowledge of technological advances in the expanded telecommunications industry e.g. WCDMA, HSDPA, HSUPA, WIMAX, WIFI, etc.
• Additionally, In-depth knowledge of the CSR handling process
• Finally, In-depth knowledge of the Emergency handling process

KEY PERFORMANCE DRIVERS REQUIRED TO BE EFFECTIVE IN THE ROLE

• To begin with, Ability to follow processes and make improvements

• Likewise, Skill in presentation and technical reporting.

POSITION 2: SOFTWARE ENGINEER

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Maintain Business Support System, including trouble ticket, system routing check, configuration, system updating & upgrading, etc.
• Participate in the planning, coordination, and implementation of scheduled system releases
• Install, configure, maintain, and support BSS environments to ensure it provides the defined functionality, performance and reliability requirements.

JOB REQUIREMENT

• Bachelor’s Degree, major in Computer Science or related field
• Must be able to speak Good English
• Must have Good Communication skills
• Should have one to three years of work experience in BSS field or IT field 5. Must be familiar with one of the following:
• Oracle database, Suse Linux, IBM AIX, Network
