Job Title: Recovery Officer
Q Capital Microfinance is seeking a dedicated and assertive Recovery Officer to join our dynamic team. This critical role focuses on managing loan portfolio quality and implementing effective recovery solutions. Primary Duties and Key Responsibilities
As a Recovery Officer, you will manage the complete delinquency management process for our loan portfolio. Your core mission will involve significantly reducing non-performing loans through strategic and persistent action.
Initially, you will proactively follow up on all overdue and delinquent loan accounts using a systematic approach. Subsequently, you will design and execute targeted recovery strategies to rehabilitate accounts and minimize financial loss. Furthermore, you will directly engage clients through field visits, telephone calls, and structured negotiations to reach sustainable repayment agreements.
Additionally, you will meticulously prepare detailed recovery reports and maintain flawless records for all accounts under management. You will also actively support broader portfolio quality improvement initiatives by providing insights and data to the management team.
Required Qualifications and Experience
To qualify for this role, you must meet the following educational and professional criteria:
- Possess a first degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field.
- Have a minimum of two years of relevant post-qualification work experience.
- Demonstrate at least two years of direct experience in loan recovery, which we strongly prefer.
- Exhibit a solid understanding of microfinance delinquency management and recovery processes.
- Prior experience within the microfinance or banking industry is a notable advantage.
Essential Skills and Personal Attributes
- The ideal candidate will possess a specific blend of interpersonal strength and analytical skill. You must show proven ability as a recovery officer or in a directly similar role. Equally important is hands-on experience with lending products and their recovery lifecycles.
- Moreover, you need strong negotiation, communication, and customer service skills to interact effectively with clients. You must also be firm, disciplined, and consistently results-oriented. Other crucial competencies include:
- Strong analytical judgment and numeracy skills for accurate account assessment.
- Good written and oral communication abilities for reporting and client discussions.
- High ethical standards and professional integrity in all recovery activities.
- Capable marketing and sales promotion skills to encourage client repayment commitments.
