POSITION: Quality Assurance Officer
Kasapreko Company Ltd invites applications from dedicated quality professionals for the position of Quality Assurance Officer in Kumasi. You will conduct laboratory analysis and testing of raw materials and packaging materials, ensuring finished products consistently meet specifications within our established policies and procedures.
Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Officer serves as a critical guardian of product quality and consumer safety. Consequently, you will work under the direct supervision of the Quality Assurance Supervisor while collaborating with production teams to uphold our Right First Time philosophy. Furthermore, you will implement rigorous testing protocols that prevent defective products from reaching the market.
Responsibilities
Laboratory Operations:
- Maintain high standards of integrity and due diligence across all quality assurance tasks
- Calibrate analytical equipment and maintain comprehensive calibration records
- Carry out analysis on all incoming materials while keeping appropriate documentation
- Prepare reagents needed for laboratory activities and replenish depleted stocks promptly
- Maintain and update records for all quality parameters at defined frequencies
In Process Quality Monitoring:
- Monitor and analyse in process quality from blending through packaging lines
- Ensure intermediate and finished products meet specifications consistently
- Prevent production of defective products through vigilant quality control
- Control and monitor all non conforming products according to established procedures
- Conduct start up checks on packaging lines before releasing them for production
- Monitor product packaging integrity including bottle condition, labels, and date coding
Cleaning and Sanitation Oversight:
- Supervise cleaning and sanitation processes including cleaning in place procedures
- Monitor caustic concentration and temperatures during cleaning to ensure effectiveness
- Drive good hygienic and sanitary conditions within operational environments
Team Supervision:
- Supervise on line inspectors and auxiliary workers on quality and food safety matters
- Pick and label daily batch retention samples while maintaining accurate records
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors
Required Qualifications and Experience
Educational Background:
- Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Science Laboratory Technology, or a related field
Experience Criteria:
- Minimum three years of post national service relevant work experience
- Exposure to an ethanol production company will provide a significant advantage
Essential Skills and Attributes
Technical Proficiency:
- Knowledge of food safety and quality management systems including ISO 9001, ISO 22000, and HACCP
- Ability to analyse large amounts of data accurately
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint
Professional Attributes:
- Effective communication and report writing skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills for managing teams effectively
- Ability to work independently and with people from diverse backgrounds
- Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Capacity to understand, follow, and apply policies and operating procedures
- Willingness to work extra hours when required
