POSITION: Operations Engineer 

Genser Energy seeks an Operations Engineer who will play a critical role in maintaining uninterrupted power distribution while upholding the highest standards of safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence.

Job Summary

The Operations Engineer serves as a vital guardian of plant performance, ensuring the Steam Turbine Generator and all associated systems operate seamlessly. You will oversee the intricate dance of steam pressure, temperature control, turbine speed management, and water treatment processes that keep electricity flowing to customers. Beyond routine operations, this position demands proactive monitoring, rapid troubleshooting, and unwavering commitment to equipment protection and process optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and continuously monitor the Steam Turbine Generator alongside auxiliary systems to maintain stable, efficient power generation.
  • Support safe execution of unit start-ups, shutdowns, loading sequences, and normal operations while coordinating closely with the Shift Charge Engineer.
  • Monitor and optimize Heat Recovery Steam Generator performance and steam cycle efficiency within the combined cycle process framework.
  • Assist in diagnosing operational issues affecting turbines, generators, condensers, feedwater systems, and auxiliary equipment
  • Conduct regular plant walkdowns, inspect equipment conditions thoroughly, and escalate emerging issues without delay.
  • Collect, analyze, and report plant operational data to support performance tracking and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in evaluating operational trends and recommending optimization actions that improve reliability and overall performance.
  • Maintain accurate logs of water chemistry results, chemical consumption patterns, and operational conditions while escalating abnormalities immediately.
  • Ensure strict adherence to plant operating procedures, safety regulations, and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Participate actively in Process Safety Management reviews, Job Safety Analyses, and Management of Change evaluations.
  • Support implementation of safe operating practices, lock-out and tag-out procedures, and other critical safety processes.
  • Work relentlessly toward achieving the organization’s “Zero Accidents” goal.
  • Maintain accurate shift logs, operational records, equipment status updates, and incident reports.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in power generation or heavy process engineering plant operations.
  • Working knowledge of Steam Turbine Generators, HRSG operations, condensers, feedwater systems, cooling water circuits, and auxiliary plant equipment.
  • Familiarity with Distributed Control Systems and plant monitoring tools.
