POSITION: Finance Manager

We are a global company that uses our successful landscape restoration model to address three of the world’s most pressing environmental issues: the need for effective solutions to mitigate global climate change, the holistic restoration of the world’s most degraded landscapes, and a growing population that requires sustainable alternatives to consumer products and markets that continue to contribute to deforestation and deforestation-related emissions.

We spent the previous decade laying the groundwork for bamboo to be a solution to this problem through carbon-financed bamboo plantations in Nicaragua, South Africa, Ghana, Rwanda, and the Philippines.

Ecoplanet Bamboo – Western Africa operates in Ghana’s Forest District, specifically at the Bandai Hills and North Bandai Forest Reserves.

Job Description

Location: Abrewapong (the nearest town is Asante Akyem-Agogo).

We are currently looking for an experienced and certified Finance Manager to oversee the company’s finance, procurement, asset control, and store management functions.

The successful applicant will report directly to the General Manager-West Africa and oversee the Administrator and Stores Assistant.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assist in implementing financial management systems and educating employees to follow company procedures.
• Maintain general ledgers, generated financial transaction reports, and reconciled accounts.
• Prepare all statutory tax returns, including annual financial statements.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports, as well as the cost analysis of operational activities.
• Manage the payment of bills and cost allocation
• Maintain a filing system for both digital and hard copy materials.
• Create systems for asset control and management in stores and vehicles.
• Ensure that proper procurement procedures are in place and followed.
• Any other obligations linked to the financial situation that may emerge

Required Skill or Experience

• BA/BS/M.Sc./MA/MBA in Accounting, Finance, or a similar discipline, with at least ten years of finance and operations experience.
• CIMA/IPA/ICA/ACCA/MCIPS certification will provide an advantage.
• Understanding of commonly recognized accounting principles, practices, and processes.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks software.
• Professional knowledge and experience with procurement and inventory management will be advantageous.
• Can ensure strict confidentiality.
• Attention to detail, analytical skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to perform accurately under pressure.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
