POSITION: Cashier
Position Summary
Summit Vision Microfinance Services Ltd (SVMF) is a specialized microfinance institution licensed by the Bank of Ghana, tasked with delivering microfinance services to individuals and MSMEs throughout Ghana. Since January 2011, the company has been functioning from its Head Office in Kaneshie, Accra, while also engaging in satellite activities across several communities in the Ashanti, Ahafo, Western North, Brong Ahafo, Bono East, and Upper West Regions.
- Particular Area: Kaneshie – Greater Accra Region.
- Direct reports: Manager of Operations
Role Objective
To ensure the precise processing of transactions, oversee cash handling, and maintain adherence to financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Accept cash and cheque deposits and credit them to the customer’s account.
- Disburse withdrawals to savings, checking, and time deposit accounts.
- Conduct cash reconciliations and oversight tasks, including the examination of cheques and various Bank documents.
- To provide excellent service to clients.
Skills, Education & Experience Required
- BA, B.Sc., B.Com, Diploma, or HND in any field, along with a minimum of 1 year of work experience.
- Thorough understanding of laws, regulations, and microfinance industry standards regarding cash handling responsibilities.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- The capability to function autonomously and collaboratively within a group.
- Excellent sales/convincing abilities
- Proficient verbal communication skills, excellent spoken English, and a strong conversational capability in one (1) or more local languages.
