Job Description

Hollard Ghana is looking for a Business Development Manager.

Job Objective

In charge of making and keeping good business ties with direct and corporate clients, as well as growing sales and making the Kumasi Branch more profitable. The person chosen will also be in charge of Hollard2U/Sales Executives and make sure they meet or beat their sales and profit goals.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Sell Hollard goods to people, businesses, and other organizations.
  • Meet monthly and yearly premium goals for new customers and current customers who want to stay with you.
  • Startand grow relationships with corporate bodies and people in order to reach agreed-upon business goals.
  • Changes should be suggested to improve productivity, profitability, growth, and the quality of the given book of business. Unsuitable risks should also be turned down.
  • Review the profit/growth results and trends for each section and suggest action plans to make underwriting more profitable.
  • Analyze both qualitative and quantitative data about business and institutional clients and get approval for risk selection and acceptance, coverage, and price.
  • Make sure that all insurance transactions (such as quotes, new business, endorsements, renewals, post-loss cancellations, and cancellations) are done correctly and on time.
  • Talk to Brokers, Hollard2U Agents, and Institutional clients often and give them prompt, skilled customer service.
  • Give monthly updates on what has been done, what is still to be done, what problems have come up, and what suggestions have been made.
  • Make sure that all processes, rules, and procedures are followed to the letter, and look for ways to improve.
  • Keep an eye on incentive programs and make sure commissions and other allowed payments are made on time.
  • Drive change management among your direct reports in areas like talent management, culture change, and making the workplace a good place to work.

Required Skills or Experience

  • A degree from college in marketing, insurance, or a similar field
  • At least five years of experience selling and heading sales teams
  • Proven seller who has met sales goals in the past.
  • Excellent skills at finding customers and keeping in touch with them
  • Know about the product, how to rate it, and how to figure out how dangerous it is.
  • Should know about the market, including what your competitors are doing.
  • People skills, organization skills, and the ability to negotiate
  • Good skills with computers, especially MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
