POSITION: Field Officer
Main Aim of the Job
The Field Officer will carry out project tasks paid for by Eni Ghana Exploration and Production Limited in the Western region of Ghana, specifically in the Ellembelle district. They will help the Project Manager (PM) with organizing and overseeing the field activities and keeping track of them.
Their job includes carrying out activities at the site, managing and reporting on money spent there, collecting and analyzing data to keep track of the project, and reporting on what has been done. She/He regularly checks on the activities of VIS and its partners. The Field Officer tells the Project Manager about this.
Key Duties and Activities
- Help organize and keep an eye on the project’s activities in the field, making sure everything is done on time according to the plan.
- Regularly gather and check data to see how the project is doing.
- Help everyone involved in the project talk to each other and share information easily, including the team, partners, and people in the community.
- Create monthly and operational reports and regularly update on current activities, including assessments from different fields.
- Work with different community members and get them involved to make sure that community leaders, representatives, and local government officials participate fully in carrying out and improving the project activities.
- Help find and evaluate new places for projects or areas to grow based on what the community needs.
- Help get ready and organize training workshops, meetings, and community events.
- Keep track of daily spending, gather any necessary documents, and make sure to send all expense papers to the admin office on time. Handle buying processes in the field, which include figuring out what is needed, finding suppliers, getting price quotes, and making sure everything follows the organization’s rules and procedures.
- Any other tasks or jobs that the Project Manager thinks are needed or assigns to help the organization provide its services.
Required Skills or Experience
Education
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a similar area of study.
Work Experience
- At least 3 years of experience working in international cooperation, especially in helping and organizing communities.
Job Requirements
- Experience doing the same job before.
- Experience in overseeing work in the field.
- Past experience in buying things for a company.
- Past work in logistics.
- Work experience from the Western area.
- Good skills in using computers, especially with MS Office programs.
- Experience working in schools and vocational training environments.
- Proven ability to gather information in both descriptive and numerical ways.
- The ability to connect and talk with different people involved.
Languages:
- English (very good speaking and writing skills).
- Lastly, It would be good to know some Italian (Level B1).

- Workplace skills and ability to solve problems.
- Can work well with others.
