New Employment Opportunity at Unilever Ghana
POSITION: Assistant CSP Lead
Imagine walking into a role where your decisions directly influence brands that sit in the homes of 3.4 billion people. That is the scale of impact awaiting you at Unilever. We operate in over 190 countries, and our products are a daily staple for millions. However, our mission goes beyond commerce. We exist to make sustainable living commonplace. We believe that purpose driven people create a better business and a better world.
Consequently, we are looking for an Assistant Customer Strategy and Planning Lead who wants to merge creativity with analytics. This is not a behind the scenes desk job. Instead, it is a dynamic position where you will shape how our brands appear in stores and online. If you enjoy fast paced environments and have a knack for forecasting, this role offers the perfect challenge.
The Core Purpose of the Role
We need someone who thinks creatively through design thinking but also loves the rigidity of numbers. You will drive trade marketing efficiency and effectiveness. Furthermore, you will constantly hunt for growth opportunities within your assigned categories and channels. This position is ideal for a person passionate about shopper marketing and data driven decision making. You will work cross functionally to deliver objective, shopper focused plans that resonate with real consumers.
Your Key Responsibilities
This role is multifaceted. You will touch various parts of the business, from innovation to execution. Here is what your main responsibilities will look like:
- Channel and Category Development: You will translate raw customer and shopper insights into actionable business opportunities. Additionally, you will build specific trade plans for customers and channels. These plans must align with the total trade category strategy while delivering our brand objectives.
- Innovation and Project Coordination: Your voice matters during product development. You will coordinate customer input during the innovation funnel stages. Moreover, you will handle trade launch planning and execution, ensuring everything aligns perfectly with customer needs.
- Sales and Operations Planning: You will provide essential input for our monthly and quarterly S&OP cycles. This involves preparing customer development data and consolidating insights from field teams and Category Management Intelligence (CMI). Your analysis will directly support accurate demand forecasting.
- Net Revenue Management: Tracking trade investments is a critical part of this job. You will assist in monitoring promotional effectiveness to ensure we spend wisely. Additionally, you will support the analysis of pack and SKU mixes to optimize overall profitability.
- Customer and Shopper Execution: Strategy means nothing without proper execution. You will implement channel and shopper blueprints across traditional, modern, and digital channels. Consequently, you will monitor the execution of the 6Ps: Product, Price, Place, Promotion, People, and Performance.
What You Bring to the Table
We are looking for a specific blend of experience and personality. You do not need to be a decade into your career, but you must have a strong foundation.
- You should have two to four years of experience in Sales, Trade Marketing, or Category Management.
- You must hold a relevant tertiary qualification.
- You need strong analytical and digital skills. Excel is your friend, specifically PivotTables and VLOOKUP functions.
- A basic understanding of shopper marketing and CATMAN principles is essential.
The Skills That Make You Stand Out
Beyond the hard skills, your mindset matters most here.
- You have experience with project coordination or innovation management. You know how to keep moving parts organized.
- You possess exposure to S&OP or demand planning processes. You understand the rhythm of supply and demand.
- You work well with external partners. You enjoy collaborating to find solutions that benefit everyone.
- You are detail oriented. You manage multiple deadlines in a fast paced environment without dropping the ball.
- You demonstrate agility. You thrive even when the strategy pivots frequently, adapting quickly to new directions.
