- JOB POSITION: Process OperatorÂ
- LOCATION: Tema, Ghana
MAIN JOB PURPOSE:
Process Operators are needed for a job in Tema, Ghana. Process Operators in a manufacturing plant are in charge of the whole production process. They keep an eye on the equipment to make sure it works well and keeps the plant safe.
The Process Operator is in charge of making sure that production equipment runs safely and meets customer needs by following the production plan, meeting quality standards, and maximizing cost-effectiveness, optimal running, and equipment efficiency.
She or he is expected to clean and check the equipment and write down any problems or issues so that the Technical Operator can fix them. The Machine Operator should know how to run a number of machines so that the factory can keep running.
JOB SUMMARY
- Technical – Knowing and using technical skills to operate machinery in a safe and effective way so that the production plan can be met. As needed, clean and grease the machine.
- Safety: Follow all safety and environmental rules for the Sourcing Unit and the equipment you are given to make sure the whole team can work in a safe place. Learn about the legal responsibilities of each person.
- Workplace Dangers: Know everything there is to know about the workplace and its dangers. Use all the right safety and environmental procedures for the people, processes, materials, products, and equipment involved in the task.
- Environment: Work to get rid of waste and make sure waste and dangerous materials are handled in the right way to save money and protect health, safety, and the environment.
- Quality – Checks the quality against the standards set and reports any problems with the product or its packaging. Finds process problems quickly and takes immediate steps to stop them.
- How to Solve Problems: A Working Know how to find, rank, and solve problems using the right tools and methods that stop them from happening again. Needs to take the initiative.
- Making decisions: Can decide to reject products that don’t meet standards and to help the day’s work plan.
- Teamwork: You must be able to work well with others and be a good team player. You must also be responsible, helpful, and a good communicator.
- Administration: Hands off tasks well and keeps accurate records of what happened during the shift (cases packed, rejected, maintenance done, etc.).
- Physical Abilities: Machine Operators need to be nimble enough to move quickly between workstations and up and down stairs. Hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity are also needed for assembly and control tasks.
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to change their work schedule to fit factory shutdowns, training courses, and other things.
Professional Qualifications:

- Reading and understanding, writing, and math are all part of the national school-leaving standards. This will help with keeping track of data, analyzing how well a machine works, and working as a team in general, with a focus on communication skills.

ESSENTIAL
- Basic mechanical knowledge of how automation works in a factory.
- Can stay on task and be disciplined while showing good critical thinking skills to meet output goals.
- IT Skills: Able to use Machine data and control systems that keep track of Material Movement, Loss, and Quality. Must also know how to use the Excel and Word programs in Microsoft Office.
PREFERRED / DESIRABLE:
- Experience running a machine.
- Experience making things in a company that makes fast-moving consumer goods.
- To move on to the Unilever Technical Operator Curriculum, you must show that you are good at fixing things (Entry, Developing, and Full level).
