About Central Functions

About the Facilities Team and the Role
The Facilities team is responsible for maintaining all THG sites, ensuring that all colleagues and visitors are in a clean, safe environment while on site.
As a Mobile Electrician you will perform day to day maintenance for reactive, quoted and planned tasks, compliance inspections and regulatory inspections against the buildings electrical infrastructure and on-site assets across portfolio of sites.
Responsibilities
- Firstly, Diagnose and rectify faults of an electrical/ electronic nature, using wiring diagrams, manuals, drawings and sketches, for all plant, equipment and services
- Secondly, Follow electrical/ electronic planned maintenance programs
- Thirdly, Recondition and repair electrical and electronic components, controls and equipment.
- Moreover, Utilise and follow administration control systems of the maintenance and associated departments in the normal course of employment as an electrician
- Additionally, Initiate and carry out electrical/ electronic modifications to new and existing plant equipment and services.
- Then, Perform facility inspections and report on condition affecting operations
- Also, Escort specialist contractors and work beside them as required
- More so, Respond, diagnose and resolve electrical emergencies
- Furthermore, Comply with all safety procedures and requirements
- Besides that, Support any afterhours building needs and activities as required
- Again, Perform other tasks assigned as requested
- Afterwards, There is a good degree of flexibility required in the role therefore there will be other general maintenance tasks assigned from time to time depending on the business needs
- Finally, Attend occasional night and weekend shifts depending on the specific needs of the business
Requirements:
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous Electrical Experience, Lighting, Wiring, Alarm Systems, Fire Prevention Systems
- Knowledge of building regulations and standards, safety regulations, and safety practices
- Ability to read and follow blueprints and rough drawings
- Working knowledge of IEE regulations, City & Guilds 2360 and 2382 qualifications, and inspection and testing certificate (2391)
- Demonstrate familiarity with NICEIC requirements
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to plan ahead.
- Able to prioritize work and manage their own time
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- ‘Can do’ attitude
- ‘No job to small’ approach
- Good level of computer literacy and knowledge of MS Office packages.
- Relevant electrical qualification e.g. NVQ, Electrical Installation Diploma would be an advantage
