About the Position
We are thrilled to share an opportunity for a skilled Specialist – Field Support with substantial operational expertise in mining and mobile fleet management.
This position entails servicing and maintaining MMU chassis in Africa, making sure that all plant and operational equipment are well-maintained, repaired, and remain functional. The aim is to deliver blasting products and services to clients according to contractual commitments. The Specialist will aid in providing top-notch explosive services safely and with environmental awareness, while overseeing and ensuring adherence to the Maintenance Management System. This role reports to the Operations Lead – Maintenance.
What You Will Be Doing
- Offer customer assistance for Bulk plants, MMUs, and pumps during onsite visits or deliveries;
- Detect and fix mistakes or technical problems.
- Produce prompt and thorough service reports.
- Supervise Maintenance Management procedures and records.
- Follow all company guidelines and processes.
- Collaborate with the technical team and disseminate information throughout the organization.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Technical credentials and vocational certificate (Mechanical/Electrical).
- More than 5 years of hands-on service experience.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in heavy industry, ideally with Volvo, MAN, or Renault trucks (MMU support).
- Skill in handling service calls and identifying issues based on non-technical descriptions.
- Mechanical and electrical expertise.
- Readiness to travel frequently within Africa.
- A legitimate driver’s licence.
- Ability to work various shifts and adjust to fluctuating schedules.
- Knowledge of mobile tools and applications.
- Specific degree of physical capability.
