POSITION: Project Services Manager

Lycopodium is looking for a highly experienced Project Services Manager to join our project team in Africa on a 6:2 roster.
The PSM, who reports directly to the Project Manager, will provide leadership and coordination for all aspects of site-based Project Controls, such as Project Accounting, Cost Estimating and Management, Site Procurement, Planning and Scheduling, Contract Administration, and Material Handling.
Your primary tasks will include:
- Monitor project performance, including costs, timeliness, safety, and internal evaluations, to provide a clear assessment of critical performance across all business units.
- Assist with the development, implementation, and management of Project Control Procedures and Processes, including cost control and scheduling.
- Manage and organize inputs from diverse team members, such as engineering, procurement, contracts, project management, and construction, to establish specific costs, man-hour constraints, and a timeline.
- Management of contract administration, including evaluation and resolution of contactor claims, and contract closeout services for the project
- Evaluate project progress to ensure that it meets budgetary and deadline targets. Recognize progress problems and quickly report them to the Project Manager to ensure that the project is finished within budget and on time.
- Oversee and lead all site-based project services workers, both ex-pats and natives.
- Maintain the integrity of the information interface with the project’s headquarters in Perth, WA.
- Provide overall, high-level support to the Project Manager and serve as the delegate of authority in their absence.
What will you bring:
- Approximately 10–15 years of expertise in project services management, including cost management, contract administration, procurement, and planning/scheduling, preferably in the mining industry.
- Undergraduate degree in commerce, business, or engineering.
- Previous overseas site-based experience, particularly in Africa, will be viewed positively.
- Comprehensive understanding of project management principles, theories, concepts, tools, progress, and reporting.
- Previous experience with multi-location interfaces and foreign currency components of multinational projects.
- Capability to analyze work methods, deploy systems, and propose alternatives and adjustments as needed.
- A focus on developing, maintaining, and managing interpersonal relationships for diverse, high-performing teams.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive connections with all stakeholders, as well as collaborate with colleagues from numerous locations.
