About the NL Scholarship

The NL Scholarship for the spring 2026 cohort is a single €5,000 grant given to international students commencing their first year in a full-time bachelor’s or master’s program in the Netherlands. Although it isn’t a complete tuition scholarship, it offers significant financial aid to assist with some of your educational costs.

This scholarship is sponsored by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science, in partnership with Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences. It’s a robust effort to globalize higher education in the Netherlands — and you’re welcome to join!

Eligibility Requirements

You qualify for the NL Scholarship if you:

  • Possess a nationality that is not part of the EEA.
  • Are seeking admission to a full-time bachelor’s or master’s program at a recognized Dutch university or University of Applied Sciences.
  • Have not attended a Dutch educational institution before (no qualifications from the Netherlands).
  • Fulfill the particular admission criteria of the Dutch institution you are applying to.
