Netherlands Fully-funded MENA Scholarship 2025
The Netherlands is taking significant steps towards fostering academic excellence and leadership development by reopening avenues for aspiring individuals in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The MENA Scholarship Programme (MSP), an esteemed initiative backed by the Dutch government, is now accepting applications for its fully-funded short course scholarships for the year 2025.
This program empowers young professionals from select MENA countries by providing access to specialized courses at Dutch higher education institutions. Participants will gain valuable insights, build meaningful connections, and contribute to their communities upon returning. Overview of the MENA Scholarship Programme
Supported by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the Shiraka Programme and managed by Nuffic, the MENA Scholarship Programme aims to foster connections through knowledge exchange, professional growth, and global cooperation. It provides brief training in the Netherlands for ambitious professionals ready to make a genuine difference in their native countries.
The program features customized trainings (TMTs) for organizations throughout the MENA region, enabling Dutch educational institutions to provide context-relevant education that meets local requirements.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, candidates must:
- Be a citizen and resident of one of these countries: Algeria, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Tunisia, and Syria (only if living and employed in one of the other countries mentioned).
- Please be aware that Sudan is not included in the 2025 application cycles because of the ongoing circumstances.
- Be employed individuals, 45 years of age or younger, at the moment of application.
- Show enthusiasm and alignment with the key themes established by the program in their nation.
- Have a strong proficiency in English or French, based on the language used for instruction.
MENA/MSP Scholarship Benefits and Course Length
Successful applicants will be awarded a fully-financed scholarship that includes:
- Tuition fees
- Visa costs
- Travel expenses
- Insurance
- Accommodation and daily living allowance
Short courses last between 2 and 13 weeks and are offered in the Netherlands by accredited Dutch organizations. Every course is customized to address the requirements of contemporary global issues, especially in fields such as governance, agriculture, water management, entrepreneurship, and education.
Tailor-Made Training (TMT)
Organizations in the MENA region can additionally take advantage of the program via Tailor-Made Training (TMT). This program enables teams, departments, or networks of professionals with common learning requirements to participate in customized training sessions conducted by Dutch specialists, either in the Netherlands or nearby.
How to Apply
Applications are handled directly by the involved Dutch institutions. Candidates should:
- Choose a brief course from a designated list offered by accredited Dutch institutions.
- Fulfill the particular admission requirements set by the institution.
- Ensure their application aligns with the thematic priorities specific to the country established by MSP.
- Submit your application through the Dutch institution’s application portal during the specified application period.
