Award-winning actress, Vivian Jill Lawrence has starred in many notable movies in Ghana such as True Colours , Ghost and the likes. The sensational Kumawood actress has been around for the past decade.
Vivian Jill has revealed that she is never going to accept certain movie roles again. Speaking to Nana Romeo Welewele in an interview on Accra 100.5 FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo show, Vivian Jill Lawrence explained that she was not willing to accept any movie roles that required her to be a mermaid or a river goddess, locally known as “maame water”. She added that the role of a fetish priestess is the most difficult of all the roles she has played.
She said her weight made it difficult for her to play the role of a fetish priestess as she is always expected to be jumping and running around in almost all the scenes she happened to be present. Vivian Jill also said that these activities to her, are strenuous because her whole body aches after engaging in them.
“It took me three days to regain my strength and my mother even asked me to quit”, she disclosed. She ended up recounting an experience she had with a child who watched one of such movies she acted.
She said the child began to scream violently and fell to the ground the very moment he noticed her. This has killed the zest in taking up that role. The beautiful actress stressed that, regardless of the amount of money involved, she would reject any script from any movie director, which requires her to act or play the “maame water” role.
However, the mother of two had no problem shooting romantic scenes because she considers that role less strenuous.
