The Government of Ghana has secured funding from the World Bank for the implementation of the Transform project.
The interventions under efransform are expected to lead to more efficient and transparent targeting and use of limited public resources improved delivery of public and private sector services, especially in rural and underserved areas trust in payment systems and enhanced confidence in electronic business and financial transactions. They would also lead to diversified employment opportunities and a more integrated and coordinated public sector that is able to make better policies and respond effectively to citizens’ needs using trusted systems.
The Government of Ghana initiated the systematic development of e-Government Procurement (GP) in Ghana, towards promoting transparency in all operations, ensuring uniformity in procedures and consistent application of international standards for the procurement of goods, works and services and for asset disposal, This is to foster competition, efficiency, and transparency in the procurement process whilst leveraging on information and Communication Technologie)
The e-GP is beinG implemented in phases Phase 1 consisted of the development of the system and piloting it with five (5) Entities. After a year and a half of development, the system went technically live
The Second Phase of the system will be rolled out to more Entities .
In furtherance of this, the Ministry will apply part of the funding to capacity building by hiring consultants to assist the development of the second phase (Rollout) of Ghana Electronic Procurement System (GHANEPS)
