Chirano is located in southwestern Ghana, roughly 100 kilometers southwest of Kumasi, Ghana’s second-largest town. The mine is within the Bibiani gold belt and consists of 11 deposits. Open hole and underground ore are reused at the Chirano factory. The capacity of the shop is roughly 3.5 million tonnes per annum. Processing involves crushing, ball shop grinding, filtering, and CIL.

Job Description

  • Estimate and propose optimum mine planning results in achieving planned objects and calculate ore reserves in agreement with established planning programs similar as cut-off grades and legislative conditions
  • Estimate indispensable designs and mine plans grounded on colorful functional scripts with the thing of maximizing functional edge and profitability.

Job Duties and Tasks

  • Make sure applicable Safety, Mining and other statutory Canons and Regulations remain in full compliance at your workplace.
  • Laboriously share in the Company’s Nonstop Enhancement Programme.
  • Estimate mining styles, processing styles, operating cost, capital spending, product schedules, dilution and ore loss.
  • Identify crucial engineering and mining success factors and issues that could impact the profitable viability of mine plans and mine designs.
  • Prepare engineering studies abetting resource estimates for life of mine planning purposes.
  • Design and develop processes, practices and methodologies in engineering and ensure alignment with the association’s long-term strategy.
  • Initiate and shoulder systems to optimize performance within engineering and to ensure adherence to assiduity regulations and organizational norms.
  • Prepare bench development plans and cover long and short term mine scheduling and underground conditioning to ensure compliance with the mining schedule
  • Prepare and develop waste dump lift development plans and jilting sequences
  • Contribute to the business capability to mine safely by laboriously relating dangers and pitfalls to achieving targets and developing, establishing and managing programs to ensure those pitfalls are minimized or excluded
  • Develop safe working procedures and continually modernize SOPs when necessary.
    Make the capabilities of the platoon to enhance the section’s capability to achieve the fiscal and operating strategy.

Education and Experience

  • Must have a first degree in Mining Engineering or its alternative from a recognised institution.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 times mining experience at Open Hole mining terrain
  • Must have good working knowledge and experience with strategic mine planning and budgeting.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of Open hole operation, drill & blast, as well as a general understanding of milling operations and mine conservation.
  • Must be suitable to perform fiscal analysis in mining terrain.
  • Must be complete with mine planning software systems for hole optimization and design, rather Surpac, MineSched, Whittle
  • Must have an introductory knowledge of all phases of mining & milling operations and proficiency in spreadsheet grounded cash inflow analysis.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of face mining operations, and solid safety performance at the particular and professional position.
  • Must have strong computer knowledge skills– MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, MS Project)
  • Must retain a valid Ghanaian motorist’s License
