Ho Technical University, a public Tertiary Education Institution, located in the
Volta Regional capital, Ho, Ghana, invites applications from suitably qualified
persons to fill vacancies in the following Faculties and Departments of the
University:

A. FACULTY OF ENGINEERING
a. Department of Civil Engineering
(Highway Engineering, Structural Engineering, Geo-Technical
Engineering)

(Entrepreneurship, Economics, Law, African Studies)

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
A. PROFESSORS
A person seeking appointment as Professor must:
i. Nationally and internationally acknowledged as a teacher, scholar and
innovator in his/her field with significant contribution to industrial
innovations, as well as contribution to the intellectual and professional
reputation of his/her University;
ii. have been appointed as Professor in the relevant discipline in a public
tertiary institution or a duly accredited private tertiary institution in
Ghana or elsewhere.
iii. possess a PhD in the relevant field of specialization.
iv. Show evidence of capacity for continuous research and dissemination
of knowledge through technology transfer and publications;
v. have a minimum of twenty-six (26) publications in recognized
reputable peer reviewed journals, at least ten (10) of which must have
been published after promotion to the grade of Associate Professor;
vi. Evidence of Industry Experience and membership of recognized
professional bodies will be an added advantage

B. ASSOCIATE PROFESSORS
A person seeking appointment as Associate Professor must:
i. have been appointed as Associate Professor in the relevant discipline
in a public tertiary institution or a duly accredited private tertiary
institution in Ghana or elsewhere;
ii. possess a PhD in the relevant field of specialization;
iii. show evidence of outstanding performance in teaching, research and
industry-related innovations in the candidate’s subject area, as well as,
contribution to the intellectual reputation of his/her University;
iv. demonstrate capacity for continuous research and dissemination of
knowledge through technology transfer and publication;
v. have a minimum of sixteen (16) publications in recognized reputable
peer reviewed journals, at least ten (10) of which must have been
published after promotion to Senior Lecturer grade;
vi. provide evidence of other research/professional activity/products/
invention.
vii. Evidence of industry experience and membership of a recognized
professional body will be an added advantage

C. SENIOR LECTURERS/SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOWS
A person seeking appointment as Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow
must:
i. have been appointed as Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow in the
relevant discipline in a public tertiary institution or a duly accredited
private tertiary institution in Ghana or elsewhere;
ii. possess a PhD in the relevant field of specialization;
iii. have taught for a minimum of six (6) years as a Lecturer;
iv. have a minimum of six (6) publications in recognized reputable peer
reviewed journals;
v. provide evidence of other research/professional activity/products/
invention/innovation.
vi. Evidence of industry experience and Membership of recognized
professional bodies will be an added advantage

D. LECTURERS/RESEARCH FELLOWS
A person seeking appointment as a Lecturer/Research Fellow
must:
i. possess a PhD in the relevant field of specialization.
ii. have some appreciable industrial experience or skills in Competency-
Based Training (CBT).
iii. Membership of a recognized professional body will be an added
advantage
E. ASSISTANT LECTURERS/ASSISTANT RESEARCH FELLOWS
A person seeking appointment as an Assistant Lecturer/Assistant Research
Fellow must:
i. Possess a Research Master’s degree in the relevant field of specialization,
and
ii. Have some appreciable industrial experience or skills in Competency-
Based Training (CBT).
The Assistant Lecturer/Assistant Research Fellow position is a temporary one
for a period of two (2) years and renewable for a further period of two (2)
years only; and may terminate unless the applicant registers for and obtains a
terminal degree.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of successful candidates shall include teaching;
research, technology adaptation, innovation and publication; curriculum
development; setting and marking of assignments and examination
questions; invigilation of examinations; submitting of marked scripts
