About This Role
You will manage tools for the maintenance team to ensure effective repairs and identify tools that need to be replaced. You will also handle waste from maintenance and ensure the safe use of tools and equipment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Tooling Responsibilities:
- Daily issue of tools and machines.
- Organize and manage the tool store.
- Ensure tools are returned clean and safe to use.
- Replenish supplies when needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in tool storage.
- Keep track of tools and report to the workshop supervisor.
- Issue Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and manage replacements.
Maintenance Responsibilities:
- Repair or arrange repair for damaged tools and discard unusable ones.
- Maintain oil dispensing and other equipment.
- Keep the workshop and yard clean and hazard-free.
- Inspect and maintain safety equipment.
Reporting Responsibilities:
- Provide monthly reports on tool condition and usage.
Health, Safety, and Environment
- Take responsibility for your own health and safety.
- Attend safety meetings and follow all safety regulations.
- Ensure operations are safe and promote the company’s safety culture.
Qualifications
Formal Education: Trade Certificate in mechanical or a related field.
Technical Skills:
- Ability to identify tools.
- Good with computers.
- Strong organization and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
Experience:Â
- At least 3 years in mechanical engineering.
Behavioural Skills:
- Reliable and independent.
- Detail-oriented and safety-conscious.
- Proactive and a team player.
