Job Description
- Reports to: Research Associate in Tamale, Ghana.
- Commitment Period: One Year (Renewable)
- Desired Start Date: As soon as possible

IPA is looking for a Field Manager(s) to oversee field activities for a new research project. Applications are being accepted from adequately qualified applicants for the above position.
Position Summary
The Field Manager will collaborate closely with the Research Associate and oversee the successful completion of all field-based data-gathering operations.
Responsibilities
The Field Manager will have the following responsibilities:
- Recruiting, training, and supervising field teams during surveys.
- Create training manuals for all data collection tasks.
- Managing funds and managing field expenses.
- Helping with data reconciliation and administration.
- Together with the Research Associate, we are piloting and designing instruments.
- Manage and track the survey and intervention equipment used in the field.
- Accurately assess field staff performance during recruitment, training, and data collection.
- Adhere to all IPA survey protocols, and ensure that field teams do the same.
- All problems and complaints should be reported immediately to the Research Associate.
- Respond promptly to Research Associate or IPA staff inquiries. Maintain positive relationships with IPA, employees, partners, and project participants.
- Perform any additional work-related duties that may be assigned.
Required Skill or Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, social sciences, or a comparable subject.
- It is preferred that you have project management expertise, including supervising, designing, and implementing data collecting and managing large teams of enumerators/surveyors.
- Knowledge of field research is essential.
- Fluency in English, Dagbani, and any other major language at the survey sites.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Experience working for an international non-governmental organization is advantageous.
