Job Description
The candidate’s preferred location is Kumasi.
The Accounts and Administrative Officer reports to the Group Finance Manager and helps to ensure the seamless and effective operation of the hotel’s financial and administrative systems.
Roles and Responsibilities
- The Accounts and Administration Officer will assist the Finance Manager and other team members in operating a strong financial control environment in the hotel, including maintaining comprehensive and accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliation, and general ledger entries.
- Receive and process payments for suppliers, employees, and other providers of goods and services to the hotel.
- Process staff payment requests, as well as supplier and service provider bills, to ensure hotel compliance.
- Examine payment supporting papers to confirm that they are consistent with permission levels and structure, tax invoices match purchase orders, delivery notes, and goods received notes.
- Follow up on receipts from vendors and service providers for all payments made electronically.
- Process all staff claims after they have been authorized.
- Consolidate all cash requirements and submit to the Finance Manager for approval.
- Ensure the internal control system is functional. General administration and other essential activities as delegated by management.
- Ensure the effective running of office operations.
- Ensure that the procurement system and logistics activities run smoothly.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax authorities.
- Any additional tasks that may be assigned from time to time
Required Skill or Experience
Qualification and Experience
- A first-class degree in accounting or a similar discipline, plus at least three years of relevant job experience.
- Working experience in a hotel will be beneficial.
- ACCA/ICA membership, or completion of a portion, will be advantageous.
