We are looking for a specialist in Pumps Services Technical Support to become part of our Pumps business line. You will be tasked with delivering advisory services and assistance to Metso distribution partners, local Metso teams, and users of slurry pumps, hydrocyclones, and other associated Metso equipment. In this role, you will join the worldwide Pumps Business Line.
RELATIONSHIPS: In this role, you will directly report to the Manager of Technical Support and Warranty – CNSPUM Services.
TEAM YOU WILL BELONG TO
You will become part of a worldwide team of experts in pumps and slurry handling dedicated to providing top-notch technical support and solutions for clients in the mining and aggregates sectors. The role’s responsibilities are centered around safety, customer service, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This role guarantees that the utmost quality of service-related assistance is provided to both our internal and external clients. Service support encompasses, but is not restricted to, field service tasks such as service training, warranty assessments, technical troubleshooting analysis, proposing solutions, and commissioning and start-up advisory services.
Preferred sites are the Metso offices in Ghana or South Africa, although the location can be adaptable within Africa. This role necessitates 50% or greater travel to Metso and clients locations across Africa.
YOUR TASKS
- Offer both remote and on-site advisory support to Market Area teams and distributors regarding pump failures, inadequate pump performance, warranties, repairs, commissioning, start-up, performance evaluations, and trials.
- Collect information from the Market Area and/or customers to collaborate with engineering teams or Product Management when necessary.
- Deliver technical reports featuring analysis and suggestions.
- Coordinate with the factory to handle support requests and address unresolved warranty claims.
- Create training programs for field services on slurry pumps, hydrocyclones, and associated equipment.
- Create and uphold official documents (checklists, operational procedures, etc.) for commissioning, initiation, performance evaluations, trials, problem-solving, warranty assessments, and training sessions.

POWER: Permitted to deliver and offer technical assistance in line with established plans, Goals, and in accordance with the parameters set by the Pumps Business Line.
REQUIREMENTS
- Higher National Diploma / B Tech / BSc in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience of 2 years or more in the selection/sizing, assembly, operation, or maintenance of centrifugal pumps is preferred.
- Two or more years of experience in direct customer engagement in the field service or technical support of industrial equipment.
- Enhanced speaking and writing abilities
- Proficiency in computer use and MS Office skills is a fundamental necessity.
