Petrofac is looking for an Instrument Supervisor to join our team in Offshore Ghana, which rotates through Accra every 28 days.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To know enough about process safety and managing major accident risks to be able to contribute to and influence business decisions that affect process safety.
  • Support an environment at work where health, safety, and the environment are respected and a high level of asset integrity is kept.
  • When it’s the right time, put yourself in a position to help manage major accident risks, especially when it comes to preventing, finding, controlling, mitigating, and responding to major accidents.
  • Makes sure that the work of maintenance is done well.
  • The person in charge of overseeing vendors and contractors who do maintenance work.
  • The person in charge of managing SBT offshore is in charge of SBT fittings, storage, vendors, and competency.
  • Make sure you can work well with other departments and shifts.
  • Make sure that the necessary preparations are made for relevant activities on the schedule.
  • Then, Bring bad practices, tools, and equipment to the attention of the right people.
  • Maintain maintenance plans and documentation by communicating with projects, vendors, and original equipment manufacturers.
  • Also, Keep up-to-date and accurate records of maintenance and make sure that the information is entered into the right information management systems.
  • Give out the right work permits on time.
  • Follow the instructions in the station/bill/emergency response procedures or what OIM tells you to do.
  • Make sure that high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping are kept.
  • Make sure there are enough supplies of equipment and materials.
  • Follow the company’s procedures and make sure that the handover is complete and includes all the necessary information.
  • Commit to the Competence Assurance System and do any training and testing that the job requires.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • S/NVQ Process Engineering Maintenance (Instrument and Control) Level 3 or an equivalent, and a valid COMPEX certificate.
  • Experience with planning, organizing, coordinating, and controlling/monitoring work related to maintenance.
  • Experience with “Safe Systems of Work” (PTW) and how to control and use them, including their procedures.
  • Vendor management experience.
  • Has a thorough understanding of instrument maintenance practices for offshore oil and gas assets, as well as the related technical standards and laws.
  • Ability to find problems, fix them, isolate them, and put them back together on communications, control, and instrument systems.
  • Knowledge of how to detect fire and gas, how ESD systems work, and how to maintain and check small-bore tubing.
  • Ability to deal with risks in a good way.
  • Be action-oriented, focused on results, and able to get other people excited.
  • Supervision skills, the ability to communicate verbally and in writing, and the ability to explain technical issues in a clear and concise way.
  • Ability to build good relationships with peers and stakeholders both inside and outside of the company.
