- Position: Production Control Room OperatorÂ
- Location: Ghana
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the control, monitoring, receipt, storage, and discharge of crude oil cargo and slops, adhering to all relevant procedures and standards.
- Ensure cargo quality by minimizing the presence of free water.
- Monitor area traffic to reduce collision risks.
- Execute routine and emergency ballasting/de-ballasting operations.
- Update the Maintenance Management System, inputting data and printing job cards as needed.
- Serve as the area authority for the cargo zone, excluding the crane and helideck.
- Plan, monitor, and conduct all tank entry preparations and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with the Safety Management System, including vessel safety regulations, and actively support safety initiatives and improvements.
- Contribute proactively to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) plans and improvement goals.
- Stay aware of the physical state of plant and equipment to maintain technical integrity and report any issues or concerns.
- Provide a thorough and safe handover at shift or crew changes, ensuring all relevant operational and maintenance information is communicated.
- Maintain effective communication with supervisors and other teams.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum STCW II/1 Certificate of Competence (OOW – Deck).
- Experience in FPSO marine control room operations or tanker/VLCC watchkeeping, including loading and unloading duties.
- Proven seafaring experience in a deck officer role, with offshore oil and gas experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills for issue resolution.
- Demonstrated capacity to work independently.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
