POSITION: Regional Manager, Finance
The Role
At Last Mile Health (LMH), we are all responsible for our reputation and resources. Do you have prior expertise supporting accounting and finance operations in multiple geographies? If so, you could be the ideal candidate to join LMH’s Global Finance and Administration team as Regional Manager of Finance.
The Regional Manager, Finance will assist the Regional Director, Finance by providing complete financial monitoring and administration for Last Mile Health’s four program countries: Ethiopia, Liberia, Malawi, Sierra Leone, and the Global Office in Ghana. This position requires great financial acumen and meticulous attention to detail to ensure that all financial operations are in line with company goals.
In addition, the Regional Manager, of Finance will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with internal and external standards. An ideal applicant will be able to manage complicated financial settings while working with cross-functional teams to guarantee the organization’s financial operations run smoothly.
This is a hybrid post in Accra, Ghana, and is open to individuals who live in Ghana and have work authorization, or who do not require sponsored work authorization in Ghana.
What Will You Do?
Financial Oversight and Support
- Assist in managing all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems for the regional and country offices, while adhering to GAAP standards and local regulatory needs.
- Review and approve journals, ledgers, and other financial documents to ensure correctness and adherence to corporate policies and procedures.
- Examine and approve monthly financial reconciliations, which include bank statements and other financial documents.
- Support the maintenance and improvement of internal controls to protect assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with annual audit management, including preparation and response to results. Collaborate with country finance teams to ensure timely and correct completion of funder-required audits.
Policy and Procedure Development
- Assist in the creation and execution of financial policies and processes for national offices to guarantee consistency and compliance with organizational standards.
- Provide direction and help to country finance teams in following financial procedures.
Team Collaboration and Development
- Help utilize the talents of each country’s finance team members by clarifying roles and duties and providing training programs to improve financial skills and knowledge.
- Work closely with non-finance personnel to educate them on financial procedures and investigate ways to improve program operations through good financial management.
Communication & Leadership
- Assist the Regional Director of Finance (RDF) in improving internal communications with workers at all levels to create a clear knowledge of financial rules and practices.
- Provide technical support and guidance to finance teams in Ethiopia, Liberia, Malawi, and Sierra Leone, ensuring alignment with regional financial goals and objectives.
What Will You Bring?
- Years of relevant financial management experience, including work in an international or multi-country setting.
- Experience in non-profit or development finance.
- A solid comprehension of GAAP and international financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency with financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse, multi-cultural setting.
- Ability to assist and build teams, resulting in a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Strong attention to detail, with an emphasis on correctness.
You can impress us if
- You have a CPA (equivalent) or master’s degree in accounting.
- You’ve previously utilized NetSuite Compensation Information.
