KENNEDY AGYAPONG ANNOUNCES TO CONTEST PRESIDENT 2024: LEAKS CAMPAIGN MESSAGE FOR THE POOR
In a bid to elect a presidential candidate for the year 2024, many rumors have been heard. Recent news has it that, the Member of Parliament of the Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has announced his intention to contest the upcoming presidential primaries of NPP. He gave a hint on this on the 6th of May on Oman Fm when he said: “when the time comes, I am waiting for anyone in the party who will tell me to step down.”
This was not very detailed, however, in a recent interview, Kennedy Agyapong affirmed that the rumor is true. When he was asked by the interviewer about how true that was, he said, “It is true, I am confirming it to you today that I will pick a form and contest the NPP presidential primary to lead the party for 2024.” He further stated: “I am the only one who can continue the legacy of President Nana Addo. I am the only person who can break the 8 because I am not a cabinet member. If there is any new face to bring out a new brand for NPP, then it is Kennedy Agyapong’s ticket.
Moreso, Kennedy stated his motive for wanting to contest this position. He said he wants other poor children to have the opportunity to further their education like his own children. The interviewer further asked him what difference he will be from the other presidential candidates and even the president.
He claimed that he is not going to squander state property or money but rather establish his salary with a presidential scholarship. He said, “ I will establish what we call Presidential Scholarship. Every year, I will select poor and needy but intelligent and competent students to aid them in furthering their education”.
When Kennedy Agyapong was asked why he doesn’t want to leave it for other NPP delegates to contest the presidential primaries, he stated that he has been a strong supporter of this party for a very long time, a has served the party for a long time. Thus, he will not step down for anyone to lead the party.
The interviewer asked about his plans as a president. Kennedy said, “I will use Tourism to develop the country and help salvage the unemployment situation in the country”. He further stated that he will work to ensure discipline in Ghana towards work whether a government worker or not. This is because time is money.
Kennedy Agyapong finally concluded by saying, “If given the chance, I will use 100 days to change the system and mindset because we need a positive mindset to develop the country. He, therefore, pleads with Ghanaians to have confidence in him and give him the mandate to change the country. His final statement was, “Ghanaians, with Kennedy Agyapong, there is hope for the hopeless and voice for the voiceless. God bless us all”.
