Jumbo Operator at Golden Star (Wassa) Limited

Job Purpose:

To set up more than one Boom Jumbo in a deep mining development to scale, support, and drill.

Roles：

The person who gets the job will have to do the following, among other things:

• Check the face’s ground conditions and set up ground controls as needed by the spot.
• Use a mechanized electric hydraulic jumbo drill that is right for the ground to drill the needed number of patterns accurately.
• Use the right mining tools to drill holes in order to plan lines, slopes, and profiles.
• Optimize drill patterns to make sure that the most progress is made per round while staying close to the design specs and causing as little overbreak as possible.
• Make sure that all of the legal requirements for running a mine are met according to the Mining Act and other rules of the Republic of Ghana.
• Make sure that the working area is safe for both people and tools to use.
• At the end of the shift, make notes and fill out any other paperwork that needs to be done.
• Do anything else that the boss tells you to do.

Needed Qualifications and Experience:

• Those who want to apply should have at least an MSLC/BECE and at least 8 years of experience working underground.
• Must have a certificate of fitness from the Mine Inspectorate in Ghana for blasting.
• First-Aid Certificate that is valid.
• Ghanaian or International Driver’s License with Equipment Certification (CE Statutory License)
• Know-how, skills, and skills:
• Ability to read and understand plans for ground support design.
• Ability to use your own judgment and discretion within set rules, guidelines, and processes.
• Must be aware of safety, health, and environmental problems in the workplace.
• Must be able to meet schedules and goals for operations.
• Must be able to talk and write in English in a way that makes sense.
