Will decreased Visa demand lead to positive shifts?

We were starting to fear that priority dates would retrogress, as we discussed in our piece about predictions. We had anticipated that the recent changes would result in a rise in the demand for visas, as we have previously observed, because of the USCIS’s recent attempts to expedite the visa application and approval process.

The demand for visas and the USCIS’s capacity to handle those visas have a significant impact on the Visa Bulletin outcomes. There was concern that the USCIS would raise the number of dates even though they were afraid of an increase in demand for visas as a result of the numerous reforms they had implemented over the past several months.

The truth turned out to be different. According to a recent USCIS release, fewer visa applications have been submitted as a result of the process’s changes. Applications for visas have decreased by 38.6% for the H-1B 2025 Lottery this year. Predictably, these measures sought to guarantee improved quality by enforcing stronger regulations.

As a result of a decline in low-quality applications, the demand for visas has declined. Since it indicates quicker processing times, the decline in demand for visas is a good development, especially for individuals who have been waiting for more favorable dates in the Visa Bulletin.

July 2024 Visa Bulletin Predictions

Even though there is less of a need for visas, we still need to be cautious and practical. Many categories in the June Visa Bulletin witnessed small gains, with rises as little as 5 days, despite the generally favorable trend in priority date adjustments. Even if there might not be much demand for some of these categories, the lack of progress is concerning.

Several prominent categories also saw slight advances, in contrast to the notable pushes seen in the preceding months. Even if these changes were for the better, it is nevertheless noteworthy that so many categories had such little change. Even though the precise causes of these patterns are unknown, it’s critical to keep an eye out for any changes in the July 2024 Visa Bulletin.

Is there enough evidence to suggest that we should be concerned that the upcoming updates to the Visa Bulletin will show an even smaller upward shift before eventually showing stagnation or even regression?

Even while we would all like to see more improvements, there’s a chance that the quantity of improvements will decline or even remain the same. However, we’re still optimistic that the July 2024 Visa Bulletin will carry on the recent trend of favorable changes and priority dates, making it the seventh month in a row of positive improvements during the 2024 Visa Bulletin season.

We need to be on the lookout for any changes in priority dates and visa availability as we await the July 2024 Visa Bulletin. Even if there has been improvement in recent months, there can be new opportunities or obstacles in the upcoming Bulletin.

Stakeholders may effectively manage the changing Visa landscape by remaining informed and flexible. Let’s keep an eye on the situation and wait for more information in the next Visa Bulletin.
