JOB VACANCY FOR PRINCIPAL CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST I
The Ministry of Health exists to promote and provide integrated, holistic and sustainable preventative, curative, and rehabilitative quality health services to the nation
VACANCY: PRINCIPAL CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST l
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the above position in the Ministry of Health, Department of Health Service Management, tenable at various facilities
- VACANCY NO: 28 of 2022
- SALARY: DF, 0.00 2,640.00 per annum
BENEFITS:
- Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50s, Employee pays)
- A contract of 34-36 months with gratuity of 30% payable at the end of contract.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of Master of ArtScience in Clinical Psychology
- At least (2) year’s work experience as Clinical Psychologist t or four (4) year’s work experience in a relevant field.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To give technical guidance in the provision of clinical psychology services in the health facilities and monitor compliance to professional standards in the delivery of adequate and effective clinical psychological care.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Firstly, Provides advice to individuals, families and groups with severe psychological and developmental disorders,
- Secondly, Manages provision of clinical psychology services in the health facility by monitoring compliance to professional functioning of clinical Psychologists
- Thirdly, Monitors the development and analysis of quality Audit tool for health facilities
- Moreover, Conducts needs amesiment and coordinates resources for clinical psychological services in the health facility.
- Furthermore, Interprets the broad objectives of clinical psychological services to other management and other departments in the health facilities & Participate in in peer case reviews, journal article reviews, case presentations, seminars and research.
- Then, Advocate for proactive policies and supportive environment for psychologists.
- Also, Consults and liaises with clinicians (i.e Psychiatrists, medical officer, and Clinical Social Workers, Occupational Therapist and Psychiatric nurses) in multi-disciplinary teams
- Finally, Prepares budget for the department
