• Job Title: Regional Finance Manager

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS

• Work as a business partner with the relevant stakeholders (i.e. local General Manager, Sales & Legal, Finance teams) in order to provide pro-active financial support to the achievement of the set objectives;
• Actively participate in customer negotiations, providing input and approvals on customer proposals, contracts and amendments relating to deals;
• Take care of Controlling matters such as compliance with budgetary OPEX targets and ensuring that delegation of authority and approval limits (e.g. discount approval matrix) are respected by the Managing Director and Sales team(s);
• Prepare financial analysis, business modeling and management/customer presentations as required to support customer proposals and contracts for a Western African project;
• Provide guidance on structuring of contracts, support in the preparation of tender documents, terms & conditions, review & approve financials, ensuring SES governance is applied;

• Implement and review financial processes and reports (i.e. revenues, KPIs management, inventory or cost of sales calculations);
• Oversee system implementations and upgrades from a financial perspective;
• Ensure a good and sustainable quality of revenues by a proper warning process;
• Responsibility for compliant procurement processes (according to procurement policy and with the usage of the financial system);
• Work closely with the SES accounting team as well as external service providers to ensure all necessary submissions, for example, group monthly reporting obligations and regulatory filings (including tax filings such as for VAT and withholding tax) are complete and delivered on time;
• Monitor & manage national credit risk & receivables by working closely with respective Credit & Collections team(s) at SES;
• Responsibility for customer account reconciliation by working closely with respective Sales and other stakeholders;
• Provide financial support to the wider SES Finance team;

• Strong understanding of local statutory requirements of the countries concerned
• Strong commercial negotiation skills, strategic awareness and business acumen
• Good people & influencing skills including the ability to interphase effectively with external customers and internal counterparts
• Hands-on approach to responsibilities
• Ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels in an international organization
• Ability to learn new IT systems such as SAP

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Proven track record in a similar financial/commercial role (minimum 10 years of experience)
• Chartered Accountant, Finance degree or equivalent
• Strong financial background with proven financial planning skills and with mastering of business evaluation concepts and calculations
• Proven knowledge of local GAAP and IFRS standards
• Strong process skills, in particular for the Sales process and financial systems
• Fluency in written and spoken English required and ideally one additional language spoken in the region. – Other languages an asset.
