Job Title: Project Manager

The ENB Foundation is a non-profit group that is very interested in long-term answers and how project results affect other things. Its main goal is to work on sustainable development projects in poor areas to help with growth and solve problems involving women and children. Through classes and mentorship programs, the ENB Foundation tries to give young people more power.

The foundation has done a number of projects since 2015/2016 and has about 50 young people volunteering all over Accra. We are very interested in making the world a better place, giving back to society, and building up the kids of today so that they can make a difference in the world tomorrow.

Job Summary 

The ENB Foundation Project Manager will work out of Accra, Ghana, and will answer directly to the Executives.

Develop plans and procedures that will help the foundation’s core projects grow in a good way. Project managers are in charge of directing, coordinating, implementing, executing, controlling, and finishing projects while keeping the organization’s strategy, promises, and goals in mind.

The person in this role is in charge of leading, managing, and giving operational advice to the project teams on the ground.

Key Responsibilities

  • Make sure that the quality, accountability, planning, execution, and management of programs on the ground are all working well.
  • In close collaboration with other CO program support teams, provide overall leadership and management for ENB projects at the field level. In particular, review, sign off on, and keep an eye on the plans, budgets, quality, and monitoring methods for putting the program into action.
  • Review and keep an eye on the projects’ burn rates on a daily basis, and do what you need to do to deal with any implementation or spending problems.
  • Prepare the project reports for the donors and make sure they follow the budgets, quality standards, reporting requirements, and deadlines.
  • Make sure there is good documentation by setting up a method for monitoring and evaluating, keeping a database of key learnings, and building a body of evidence of good approaches.
  • Make sure program interventions and plans for putting them into action are in line with ENB’s strategic objectives.
  • Work with the team to solve all problems in the minimum amount of time and suggest changes to all policies and procedures that are needed. Evaluate the execution and make changes as needed for the team.
  • Keep track of all job plans and make sure they are done on time. Work together with the people who have a stake in the delivery process.
  • Visit possible project lab sites and find out what the community may need and how it fits with the core projects and goals of the group.

Qualifications

At least a bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social/Political Sciences, Business Administration, Project Management, or an area related to humanitarian work. If you have a certificate, diploma, or HND in any of these areas and work experience, we will look at your application.

Skills and experience you need:

  • Shown between one and two years of experience in development and humanitarian work with a local or foreign NGO. (This includes unpaid or volunteer work and internships.)
  • able to take charge, solve problems, take on projects, and run with them.
  • Ability to think outside the box
  • Ability to work both on your own and as part of a team. A leader who can help and train program staff and work in a sensitive and collaborative way when things change.
  • Strong interpersonal skills were shown, such as building and managing relationships with complicated and diverse stakeholders and making cross-cultural teams that work well together.
  • Ability to work well in hard situations, such as stress, security risks, and living conditions that aren’t easy.
  • Experience in building up people’s skills and helping them grow.
  • 1 year of proven experience managing teams and funds and running programs.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and local language conversation skills.
  • Capable of making high-quality work and juggling different goals within tight deadlines.
  • Ability to use technology to make things easier at work. (Zoom, teams, Excel, word, ppt, etc)
  • Excellent knowledge of humanitarian ideals and standards, including programming methods that are sensitive to conflict and gender.
  • Experience making hard decisions and leading a varied, multidisciplinary team in tough situations.

Information about the job

  • This is a job that can be done from home, but you will have to go to sites and meet possible partners or donors in person.
  • For this job, you will only have to work four days a week.
  • You will report on the work done every week.
  • Once a month, you will meet in person with other staff and leaders to talk about what’s going on.
