Job Description
SPIE Global Services Energy Ghana Ltd is now seeking an Electrical Technician to join its workforce in Ghana.
Electrically Specific:
HV and LV power distribution and control networks, HV/LV motor drives and alternators, inverters, high voltage cells, variable speed units, lighting networks, switchgear, and so on.
Main Activities:
- Respect and follow the QHSSE norms and procedures.
- Be competent to maintain and troubleshoot modest electrical installations such as lighting and heat trace circuits.
- Be able to identify various types of cables (including ground cables), join them appropriately (using lugs), and arrange them properly (in trenches, on cable trays).
- Select, utilize, and install the proper cable glands and tags.
- Be able to do preventative maintenance on non-critical equipment such as batteries, motors, alternators, breakers, transformers, contactors, and switchboard.
- Be able to test and confirm alarm, trip, and interlock settings.
- Capable of conducting insulation and continuity testing for LV systems. Electrical equipment: disassemble, replace broken parts, reassemble, reconnect, and test the system. Identify each accessory.
Profile
The bearer of this position must have the following qualifications:
- Requirements for this position include a Higher National Diploma or Certificate (HND/HNC (A-levels + 3 years’ study), BTS/DUT, or equivalent, as well as 3 to 6 years of experience in oil and gas production maintenance.
- A basic understanding of the oil and gas treatment process, as well as installation and equipment.
