Position Title: Service Technician – Surface
Job Description
Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology is a business area of the Sandvik Group. It is a major global provider of equipment and tools, service, and technical solutions for the mining industry, including rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling, and materials handling.
The Field Service Technician will do basic mechanical and electrical maintenance, inspections, and repairs on customer fleets in the Sales Area.
Key Responsibilities
Some of your responsibilities are:
- Do electrical maintenance and some mechanical maintenance as told to a standard that keeps the equipment in good shape and doesn’t affect safety.
- Responsible for making sure the workplace is safe by adding to job safety analysis, engineering technical standards, facility standards, and work practices.
- Use hydraulic and electric diagrams to make repairs and find problems.
- Give feedback that is useful for planning maintenance in terms of efficiency and the safety of the tools.
- Work to reach the KPIs that have been set.
- Do technical audits of the tools and write technical reports.
- Do all the work within the set money and time frame.
- Follow all of SMRT’s rules and procedures, especially the SHEQ rules.
Qualification
- Technicians need to have a degree in either mechanical or electrical engineering and have worked with heavy-duty trackless equipment.
- It would be helpful to know how to use Top Hammer and DTH drill tools.
- Excellent ability to talk to people and give talks.
- Ability to work with employees at all levels of the company.
- Some knowledge of how to use a computer
- Be able to drive and have a valid license, ideally a class B license.
