POSITION: Grants and Research Manager
Job Description
- Finds and keeps track of research grant sources and funding opportunities;
- Coordinates the setting up of teams to write proposals and gives support before grants are given;
- Keeps a complete and accurate database of contracts for sub-awards, research, grants, and consultancies
- Looks for and takes care of HCC’s registration with international organizations that give research grants and other grants.
- Reviews proposals to make sure they are complete and follow national and institutional rules, policies, and guidelines, as well as the administrative, financial, and programmatic (grant project performance) reporting requirements of the award.
- Communicates with principal investigators, subcontractors, sponsored project offices, and funding agencies.
- Connects business with researchers and sets up ways to pay for things.
- Finds connections between charitable people and organizations and HCC; keeps links with industry players and keeps a full and accurate database on them; tries to get patents for innovative works; tries to make connections with industry to turn innovative research findings into products;
- Finds, coordinates, and compiles research business development and strategic research plans of faculty, staff, and students
Qualifications and Experience
- A postgraduate degree in a relevant field.
- An additional qualification in project management, international development, research administration, marketing, or business administration will be a plus.
- A lot of experience looking for grants and getting them from outside sources.
- Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply sponsor, national, and institutional policies, regulations, guidelines, practices, and procedures on research grants.
- Only applicants who are qualified and have experience will be asked to come to the interview.
