POSITION: Sales and Commercial Lead

Company Overview 

Blue-Grey Aqua Technology (BGAT) is a privately owned company in Ghana that was registered in 2018 as a limited liability entity. It functions as both a developer and operator of a cutting-edge drinking water purification system.

BGAT’s journey was motivated by the dangers presented to traditional treatment facilities nationwide due to frequent failures of its various components, along with supply chain issues for spare parts, which negatively affected service quality and dependability.

BGAT aims to revolutionize the water treatment landscape in Ghana and Africa through advanced innovations by creating strong and effective water treatment systems. A facility is being operated in Afuaman within the Ga West Municipal Assembly.

BGAT aims to enhance community access to clean water, adhering to all service level standards, reducing waterborne illnesses in the served areas, and fostering local economic development.

Job Overview 

Reporting: The Sales and Commercial Lead will be accountable to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Position Summary

The Sales & Commercial Lead will be tasked with generating revenue growth, expanding the market, and leading business development efforts. This position entails creating and implementing sales strategies, enhancing commercialization initiatives, and cultivating strong connections with communities, clients, and stakeholders. The person will examine market trends, discover business opportunities, and execute marketing and promotional efforts to enhance sales performance.

Furthermore, he/she will be instrumental in presenting sales information, guiding management on market feasibility, and securing long-term business growth.

Duties

Sales and Analytics 

  • Create a sales plan to meet BGAT’s objectives regarding revenue and profit margins.
  • Execute plans and actions according to established strategies.
  • Predict and establish yearly, quarterly, and monthly sales objectives for revenue and produce prompt sales reports.

Engagements and Business Growth 

  • Involve communities/individuals (for personal connections), evaluate feasibility, and counsel management on conducting business within the chosen community and/or with a specific individual.
  • Create a sales strategy for all commercialization activities, from acquiring clients to retaining them.
  • Recognize business ventures that the firm can pursue to boost profitability and counsel management on these options.
  • Assistance in creating sales presentations and developing proposals.
  • Conduct community-level interactions, meetings, and training sessions for sales demonstrations and fostering relationships.
  • Promotion, Research & Marketing efforts
  • Recognize, create, and execute suitable marketing tools and promotional initiatives to boost water sales.
  • Conduct research within communities to enhance the understanding of their members and customers.
  • Conduct customer surveys to collect data for enhancing service.

Additional Responsibilities 

  • Work alongside management to improve commercialization tactics and guarantee business prosperity.
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities as may be delegated by Management.

  • Strategic planning and project oversight: Apply sophisticated analytical and critical thinking abilities to plan, organize, and oversee intricate, multi-stage commercial initiatives, guaranteeing consistency with organizational goals and schedules.
  • High-stakes decision-making with limitations: Evaluate operational factors and make prompt, data-informed choices in high-pressure situations, thereby reducing risk exposure and improving execution effectiveness.
  • Stakeholder communication and relationship management: Carry out advanced verbal and written communications to create technical proposals, interact with clients and subcontractors, and sustain beneficial relationships with community stakeholders and strategic partners.
  • Technical sales expertise: Utilize understanding of community-oriented sales strategies, plan analysis, and technical product details to aid consultative selling and customized client solutions.
  • Operational efficiency and meeting deadlines: Skillfully allocate time and prioritize duties to guarantee prompt fulfillment of tasks, adherence to project timelines, and continuous workflow.
  • Advanced Digital Reporting and Analysis: Skillfully utilize Microsoft Excel and Word for data modeling, quantitative evaluation, and creation of high-quality reports to assist in performance tracking and decision-making activities.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Minimum requirement of a bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, logistics and operations, community development, or other relevant areas.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a sales-related position needed.
  • Having experience in the water sector will be beneficial.
