POSITION: Supervisor – Light Vehicle/Light Truck

ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI (IDUAPRIEM) LIMITED (a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti Limited) operates the combined Teberebie and Iduapriem open-pit gold mines located at Tarkwa in Ghana’s Western Region and employs a workforce exceeding 1400, which includes contractors.

Role Purpose

• Organize the upkeep and fixing of vehicles following the established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Team, making sure the Team achieves all performance metrics set with the Manager.
• Guarantee efficient prioritization of tasks, scheduling, allocation, delivery, management, budgeting, and maintenance of work records.
• Make sure that all tasks are completed to the necessary standard, within the designated timeframe, and in the most efficient way possible.
• Assist the Workshop Team as needed to maintain and repair Service Vehicles to guarantee they stay functional and accessible when necessary.
• Make sure that all health and safety policies and procedures for the vehicle workshop are adhered to, and maintain all required records.

Person Specifications

Qualification

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
• Certified or qualified for certification by the Inspectorate Division of the Minerals Commission of Ghana as an Inspecting Engineer.

Experience 

• 1-3 years of experience in vehicle upkeep in the mining sector or a comparable setting.

Skills 

• Should be capable of reporting all accidents and incidents, especially “near misses,” and take part in the investigation process.
• Capability to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues in light vehicles.
• Exhibit leadership and motivational skills.
• Must possess the ability to handle various tasks while prioritizing quality of work.
• Outstanding written communication, strong interpersonal abilities, and capacity to engage with individuals from various cultures and backgrounds.
• Health suitability for the role and surroundings
• Must have a valid Ghanaian driver’s license and be skilled in driving light vehicles.
