The African Centre for Economic Transformation (ACET) is an economic policy institute supporting Africa’s long-term growth through transformation. They provide research, policy advice, and institutional strengthening for African countries to develop their economies, reduce poverty, and improve livelihoods. They are the pre-eminent pan-African organization advancing African solutions to African transformation challenges.

ACET is the premier pan-African think tank on the continent. It is an economic policy institute established in 2007 to support Africa’s long-term growth through transformation.

ACET provides research and analysis, advisory services to African governments, and advocacy around the economic transformation agenda, and is both a think tank and a “do” tank, directly engaging in policy dialogue with policymakers, the private sector and international financial institutions. ACET’s headquarters are in Accra, Ghana; and ACET maintains a small office in Washington, D.C.

1. Head – Youth, Employment and Skills (YES)

Job Summary

The Head of the Youth, Employment and Skills (YES) Team will lead the thematic, strategic, and operational developments, and be the focal point for all matters relating to ACET’s YES projects. S/he will lead the development and implementation of an ACET YES strategy, and co-ordinate and manage a YES team around these efforts. The YES head will also be responsible for the YES programs partnership development and management and  will work closely with stakeholders from across public and private sectors to develop consensus around the ACET program and its implementation and help create an environment of trust and collaboration with clients and key partners. In addition, the YES head will lead ACET’s business development opportunities in the fields of YES. They will work closely with the ACET research and advisory team in sourcing content and managing, assigning and coordinating activities of ACET’s project with Partners with a view to growing the YES portfolio.

2. Research – Youth, Employment and Skills (YES)

Position Summary

Reporting to the Head of the Youth, Employment and Skills (YES) team, the Research Analyst (RA) will conduct research, support program activities, business development, and other activities that the YES team engages in within the program. The focus of these activities will be on using analysis to generate research products on youth and demographics, employment in the context of the 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR) and key skill development mechanisms to enable Africa to move towards a 4IR-ready labour force. These research products can then provide the analytical underpinning for the YES team’s advisory engagements with government agencies and other stakeholders, and can also provide inputs into ACET’s broader advocacy platforms such as the Africa Transformation Forum (ATF) and PACT.
