POSITION: Midwife
The Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana is seeking a dynamic Midwife to lead and manage our facility operations. Your Mission
You will take overall responsibility for facility operations, ensuring the delivery of client centered SRHR services in alignment with organizational policies. Your role combines clinical midwifery expertise with strategic leadership, spanning administration, staff performance, patient care, and community engagement. You will set the tone for professionalism, confidentiality, and quality, fostering a culture where both staff and clients thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Your role spans leadership, clinical care, operations, community engagement, and performance monitoring. Here is what you will tackle:
Leadership & Management
- You will provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the facility, setting a clear vision and guiding the team toward shared goals.
- Supervising, mentoring, and appraising nurses, administrative staff, and paramedical staff builds a capable, motivated workforce.
- Developing and implementing operational plans, budgets, and performance targets keeps the facility focused and accountable.
- Ensuring compliance with SRHR policies, facility standards, and regulatory frameworks protects both clients and the organization.
- Fostering teamwork, professionalism, and a culture of respect, confidentiality, and accountability creates a positive work environment.
Clinical & Technical Duties
- You will provide high quality midwifery care including antenatal, intrapartum, postnatal, domiciliary midwifery, and family planning services.
- Overseeing specialist SRHR services such as obstetrics, gynaecology, maternal and child health, safe abortion care, fertility, and STI including HIV prevention and treatment ensures comprehensive care delivery.
- Ensuring adherence to infection prevention, patient safety, and quality assurance standards protects every client who walks through our doors.
- Supporting case reviews, audits, and continuous improvement of clinical services drives excellence across the facility.
Administration & Operations
- You will manage clinic operations including finance, procurement, logistics, and HR in collaboration with relevant units.
- Overseeing the availability and maintenance of medical equipment, drugs, and supplies ensures the facility remains ready to serve.
- Ensuring proper record keeping, digitization of client data, and confidentiality of patient information upholds our ethical commitments.
- Preparing and submitting timely reports to management and relevant stakeholders keeps leadership informed and supports decision making.
Community Engagement & Partnerships
- Strengthening linkages between the clinic and the community to promote SRHR and other services builds trust and expands access.
- Building and maintaining partnerships with government agencies, donors, NGOs, and professional associations amplifies our impact.
- Leading clinic representation at stakeholder meetings, health forums, and advocacy events positions us as a voice for reproductive health.
Monitoring & Evaluation
- Tracking clinic performance against set targets and indicators keeps operations aligned with goals.
- Overseeing data collection, analysis, and reporting for SRHR services provides evidence for continuous improvement.
- Implementing quality improvement initiatives based on evidence and feedback ensures we never stop getting better.

Qualification & Experience
- A Registered Midwife with a degree.
- An additional higher qualification in a related field gives you an added advantage.
- A minimum of seven years of relevant working experience demonstrates your readiness for this leadership role.
