The Garden City University College (GCUC) in Kenyase-Kumasi is seeking applications for the following positions

1. Lecturers/Senior Lecturers/Associate Professors/Professors 

The Position

• Successful candidates will be faculty members in the Department of Nursing and Midwifery of the School of Health and Allied Sciences, reporting to the Head of Department.
• The candidate would be expected to teach courses in subject-specific areas, supervise students’ research projects/theses, give professional mentorship to students, perform and publish scholarly research, attend conferences, and seek grants.

Qualifications & Experience

• PhD or MPhil graduate with a concentration in nursing, midwifery, or comparable programs.
• Must have appropriate teaching, research, and industry experience.
• Must be available and able to serve for at least four (4) years full-time.

Terms of Appointment

• The full-time appointment will initially be for four (4) years and may be renewed periodically subject to satisfactory performance and other University College terms and conditions.

2. Procurement Officer

The Position

• The Procurement Officer is a Senior Staff member reporting to the Registrar of the University College.
• The Procurement Officer oversees daily procurement activities and ensures compliance with laws and regulations, as well as best practices in the procurement of goods and services.
• The Procurement Officer must be highly professional in their duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree/HND/Diploma in Procurement, Purchasing and Supplies, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a comparable discipline with a demonstrated specialization in procurement.
• At least two (2) years of experience in a procurement department of a respectable institution.
• A thorough understanding of procurement and negotiation strategies.
• Demonstrates integrity, honesty, and accountability.
• Registration with relevant professional bodies is advantageous.

Terms of Appointment

• This appointment is full-time.

3. President

The Position

• The President acts as Executive Head of the University College, accountable to the Governing Council for academic and administrative functions.
• They promote quality higher education and provide academic and administrative leadership.
• They initiate new academic development directions and implement the University Co.

The Person

• Professorial rank or equivalent;
• Internationally acclaimed/distinguished scholar with staff motivation and direction;
• Leadership and organizational skills;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to raise funds for research and development activities.
• Must be able to serve a full four-year term before achieving the position.

Appointment terms

• Full-time appointment for four years, renewable after performance evaluation.
• Desirable salary and benefits.
