Job Title: Programme Officer

The North Gonja Community Foundation LBG (NGCF) is a public, nonprofit charity based in Daboya, dedicated to serving communities across the North Gonja District of the Savannah Region. As a community-owned philanthropy and development coordinating agency, our purpose is to promote local leadership and serve as a vehicle for community philanthropy. We mobilize past and present residents, families, and organizations to contribute resources for district-wide development, complementing state and other development efforts through the power of community solidarity.

The Opportunity

To advance our strategic mission, the NGCF Board of Directors invites applications from qualified individuals currently residing within the North Gonja District. We are seeking a dedicated Programme Officer to join our operations on an initial volunteer engagement basis. This is a meaningful opportunity to contribute directly to grassroots development and community vitality.

Job Summary

Based in Daboya, the Programme Officer is a key field operations role providing essential support to the CEO/Executive Director. You will oversee the identification and documentation of critical community needs to inform project design and fundraising. Your work will involve connecting with people, organizations, and government agencies to build a strong community of supporters and donors for the foundation.

Key Responsibilities

You will be integral to programme delivery and community engagement:

First, you will support the CEO in designing and implementing the foundation’s programmes and projects.
You will collaborate with the Executive Director to prepare high-quality annual and semi-annual reports.
A core duty involves supervising the monitoring and evaluation of all foundation activities.
Furthermore, you will coordinate research into pressing community needs to guide programme design and grant-making decisions.
You will also coordinate the formation and development of NGCF’s Zonal clusters across the district.
Additionally, you will organize the foundation’s Annual Accountability Forum and actively participate in fundraising initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

Qualifications & Expertise:

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a Social Science or related field.
Experience working in a nonprofit environment, or demonstrated leadership in a social group or local club. Prior fundraising experience is a strong advantage.
Basic digital literacy, including computer skills and the use of social media platforms.
Personal passion for the community mission, adaptability, self-awareness, and a strong commitment to grassroots development.

Remuneration & Benefits

Initial Engagement: This role begins as a volunteer position with a monthly stipend. All approved work-related travel will be reimbursed according to foundation rates.
Future Prospect: As the foundation’s financial position strengthens through the team’s efforts, the board will transition the role to a competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience and performance.
