POSITION: Superintendent – Mine Geology

Cardinal Namdini Mining Limited seeks an expert Mine Geology Superintendent to lead and optimize all geological functions within our open-pit operation. This senior role carries responsibility for maximizing ore recovery, managing precise grade control, and ensuring accurate resource estimation and reconciliation. You will provide crucial technical guidance to the geology team, directly ensuring the safe, efficient, and profitable extraction of our gold resource. Furthermore, you will act as the key technical link between complex geological models and daily mining execution.

Core Duties and Key Responsibilities

Your leadership will span four critical operational areas to drive geological excellence and business results.

Grade Control and Mine Optimization

Supervise the complete grade control process, encompassing logging, sampling, and robust data management.
Oversee detailed geological mapping of pit benches to refine structural models and identify potential risks or opportunities.
Ensure accurate ore and waste delineation, coordinating with Mine Operations to minimize dilution and maximize recovery.
Lead the mine to mill reconciliation process, investigating variances and implementing corrective actions.

Resource and Reserve Management

Maintain and update grade control models using new drilling data and mapping feedback.
Validate drilling and assaying QA/QC protocols to guarantee absolute data integrity for resource estimation.
Provide strategic geological input for long term mine planning and drilling programs to upgrade resource confidence.

Team Supervision, Training, and Safety

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Mine Geologists and technicians, setting clear performance objectives.
Develop training programs to enhance team skills in mapping, software use, and sampling techniques.
Ensure all geological activities strictly comply with company Safety, Health, and Environmental standards.

Reporting and Stakeholder Communication

Generate comprehensive monthly reports on reconciliation, production forecasts, and geological risks.
Communicate findings effectively to the Geology Manager, Mine Manager, and other key stakeholders.
Manage the geology operational budget for cost effective use of drilling and analytical services.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geological Engineering and a Mincom Geology Superintendent’s Certificate of Competency.
Have at least ten years of mine geology experience, including seven years in a superintendent or management role.
Demonstrate a proven track record in gold mining operations and resource estimation.
Show strong capability in geostatistics and software like Datamine RM, Leapfrog, and OreController.
Possess a valid Ghanaian driver’s license and proficiency in driving.
Exhibit exceptional leadership, analytical problem solving skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
