POSITION: Project Facilitators (2)

Project Overview
The European Commission-funded “My Rights, My Future” project attempts to reduce child labour in Ghana’s Volta and Oti regions. This project aims to improve the capacity of local institutions and communities to defend children’s rights, provide educational opportunities, and minimize the socioeconomic reasons that drive child labour. The project takes a rights-based approach, assuring children’s well-being and protection under international norms.
Role Summary
We are looking for two motivated persons, one from each district, to help with the project’s execution. These roles entail working directly with children, families, and other community stakeholders to promote children’s rights and effectively minimize child labor abuses.
Key Responsibilities
Project implementation and coordination:
- Facilitate the day-to-day implementation of project activities in the designated region.
- Create precise work plans and schedules in conjunction with the Project Management Team (PMT) and other team members.
- To ensure project success, collaborate with local authorities, community leaders, and key stakeholders.
- Organize and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and training sessions to combat child labour and promote children’s rights.
- Ensure that project activities are in line with the project’s objectives and expected results.
Community Engagement and Capacity Development:
- Engage with community members to increase awareness about the perils of child labour and the value of education.
- Facilitate capacity-building sessions for local institutions, parents, and other community stakeholders to help them better defend children’s rights.
- Mobilize community resources and encourage local ownership of project activities.
Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting
- Monitor and document project operations to ensure they satisfy quality standards and schedules.
- Collect and evaluate data on project indicators and provide regular updates to the PMT.
- Prepare and submit detailed activity reports on a monthly, semi-annual, and annual basis, emphasizing successes, problems, and lessons learned.
- Support the evaluation of project impact by providing insights and suggestions for improvement.
Safety and compliance:
- Maintain and promote ACRAD’s child and adult safeguarding policies, ensuring that all project activities meet these standards.
- Ensure that all contacts with children and vulnerable populations are performed in a safe, ethical, and courteous manner.
- Implement and monitor Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) standards across all project activities.
- Report any safeguarding concerns or events using ACRAD’s safeguarding protocols.
Collaboration & Networking:
- Establish and maintain excellent working connections with government agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), community-based organizations (CBOs), and other relevant stakeholders.
- Attend appropriate regional and international meetings, workshops, and conferences on behalf of ACRAD.
- Work closely with ACRAD’s Implementing Partners (IPs) to ensure project activities are coordinated and integrated.
Required Skill or Experience
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Development Studies, Social Science, Education, or a closely related discipline.
- Expertise: Minimum of three years of expertise in child protection programming, project management, or facilitation, preferably in child rights, social protection, or community development.
- Knowledge: A thorough awareness of the Child Labour Monitoring and Remediation System (CLMRS), child protection issues, safeguarding methods, and PSEA standards.
Skills
- Outstanding communication, facilitation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Competence in data gathering, analysis, and reporting.
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
- Working knowledge and skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Fluency in English and understanding of local languages in the Volta and Oti regions are highly desirable.
- Commitment to safeguarding.
