POSITION: Senior Financial Accounting Manager
Job Description
The African Cashew Alliance (ACA) is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Financial Accounting Manager to strengthen its finance and administrative systems. This consultancy role offers an exciting opportunity to lead financial operations, drive accountability, and support sustainable growth within a leading organization in the cashew industry.
The ideal candidate will design and oversee a strong financial framework that promotes transparency, efficiency, and compliance with donor and international standards.
Purpose of the Role
The Senior Financial Accounting Manager will play a central role in ensuring sound financial stewardship and operational excellence. The role focuses on:
- Establishing strong internal control systems that promote transparency and accountability.
- Ensuring full compliance with donor regulations and international financial standards.
- Delivering accurate and timely financial reports to management, partners, and donors.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage ACA’s finance department to ensure efficient financial operations.
- Maintain effective accounting systems and procedures to support organizational goals.
- Develop and execute strategies that enhance fundraising efforts and ensure financial sustainability.
- Manage donor reporting and compliance, particularly with requirements from partners such as GIZ.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with donors, banks, and financial institutions.
- Design, review, and implement financial policies, operational manuals, and capacity-building programs for staff.
- Monitor compliance with internal controls, donor guidelines, and international accounting principles.
- Provide strategic guidance to the management team on budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
- Support the development of new funding proposals through financial planning and cost analysis.
Qualification and Experience Requirements
Educational and Professional Requirements:
- Completion of ACCA Level 3 or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of senior-level experience in financial management within either the NGO or private sector.
Experience and Skills:
- Proven record in fundraising, donor relations, and partnership management.
- Strong background in grant management, financial reporting, and donor compliance.
- Prior experience working on GIZ-funded programs will be an added advantage.
- Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and motivate finance teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
