POSITION: Business Manager
Keda Ghana Ceramics Company Limited stands as a leading force in Ghana’s manufacturing sector, and we currently seek a highly skilled Business Manager to serve as the strategic liaison between our new Glass Project and all external stakeholders.
Job Summary
The Business Manager position transcends traditional corporate liaison roles. You will take ownership of managing relationships with government agencies, traditional authorities, utility providers, and local communities. Your work will directly determine our project’s success by securing land tenure, utility connections, regulatory approvals, and community acceptance. Consequently, we seek an individual who can navigate complex social hierarchies while delivering tangible results on the ground.
Core Responsibilities
Your leadership will encompass these critical areas:
- Manage land transfer procedures for Stool Lands and private lands while liaising with the Lands Commission
- Build and maintain high-level relationships with the Traditional Council and local Chiefs
- Proactively resolve disputes regarding boundaries, compensation, or construction impact
- Coordinate local labor requirements and manage community expectations effectively
- Secure and maintain the social license to operate through ongoing community engagement
- Coordinate with GWCL for industrial water supply arrangements
- Secure gas sourcing and infrastructure by coordinating with GNPC and Ghana Gas
- Oversee local contractors for site leveling and essential access road construction
- Manage registration with GIPC and apply for quotas to secure customs duty exemptions
- Coordinate clearance of large-scale industrial equipment at Tema or Takoradi ports
- Lead the application process with GFZB to secure Free Zone status and tax benefits
- Secure and renew all necessary permits including EPA, GSA, GNFS, and District Assembly building permits
- Act as the primary point of contact for GIS (Immigration) and Police Service
- Manage crisis response and security coordination with relevant authorities
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Educational and Professional Foundation: We require a minimum of five years of professional experience in large-scale industrial, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects within Ghana.
- Core Competencies Required: In-depth knowledge of Ghanaian government administrative processes and the Land Act remains essential.
- Desirable Attributes: Experience with Free Zone applications and management strengthens your application considerably.
