The University of Tokyo invites international students to apply for its UTRIP Summer Internship 2027. This prestigious two-month programme offers undergraduate students majoring in natural sciences the opportunity to experience “real graduate school life” in one of Japan’s most prestigious institutions. Participants work closely with leading researchers at the Graduate School of Science, gaining valuable research experience while testing their aptitude for rigorous graduate study.

Internship Benefits

Selected interns receive comprehensive support throughout the programme.

  • A kitchen, fridge, laundry machine, and shower room are also available.
  • The programme includes an intensive introductory Japanese language course with approximately five classes designed to help you communicate with Japanese peers and navigate daily life smoothly.
  • Additionally, participants enjoy off-campus activities such as field trips to historical sites, social events, and lectures on cross-disciplinary scientific areas.
