It is important for RCSI to hire someone who has experience creating and teaching healthcare skills-based courses. Passionate about teaching, open to new ideas, and dedicated to providing greatness in a multicultural school setting are all things that you should have.
Another thing you will do is help plan and set up teaching days and training events. The person who gets the job will get training and help with career development.
Duties of Ireland Visa-Sponsored Lecturer, Postgraduate Surgical Education and Training
- First, you will be in charge of making sure that teaching happens in various advanced programs in surgery and emergency medicine. This will include both technical and non-technical skill training.
- Second, you will organize, plan, and lead teaching days and simulation training events, making sure that everything runs smoothly, from making the curriculum to getting feedback from participants.
- Third, you will work with clinical consultants in different specialties to create and teach new programs that are specific to those fields. You will do this while working with the training program directors and assigned education supervisors.
- In line with best practices, you will also help multiple programs in the Department of Surgical Affairs create their curriculum.
- You will also help hire and train adjunct teachers to teach courses and facilitate new employees in Surgical Affairs.
- Lastly, you will help with giving tests and exams for postgraduate students.
Requirements for Ireland Visa-Sponsored Lecturer Postgraduate Surgical Education and Training
- You must first have a PhD or something similar in healthcare, health studies, education, simulation, or something else.
- Second, you need to have been taught before, preferably in a clinical or practice setting.
- Third, you need to love teaching and be able to attract students interested in both professional and non-technical skills.
- You also need to be very good at organizing things to be able to plan training days and events.
- Additionally, you must have a creative teaching style and either know how to use virtual technology in the classroom or be willing to learn.
- Lastly, you need to be excellent at using a computer, giving presentations, talking, and writing.
