Invitation of Candidates for Screening for the United States Naval Academy
The Ghana Navy extends its gratitude and would like to remind you that the US Government has granted the Ghana Navy a training slot to attend the United States Naval Academy (USNA) starting on July 1, 2025. A high school diploma, or the WASSCE Certificate’s equivalent, is required for admission to the USNA.
To screen applicants for the USNA 2025 admissions, the Ghana Navy plans to look for senior high school graduates with a background in science and strong academic credentials.
The following details or recommendations should be taken into consideration while choosing possible candidates for the USNA, following the offer requirements of the USNA and the basic eligibility standards for the enrollment of officers in the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF):
-
- As of July 1, 2025, applicants must be between the ages of at least 17 and no more than 23.
- The applicant must possess a WASSCE Certificate.
- The candidate must be prepared to take the SAT or ACT college entrance exams in December 2024.
Further Details
To choose the six most qualified candidates, the eligible applicants will go through the GAF officer candidate screening process. Following that, these finalists will start the USNA admissions procedure, which will choose just one candidate to train with the USNA 2024 admissions.
After completing four years of training at the USNA, the trainee will get a first degree. After completing training, the trainee who shows the most success will be commissioned as a presidential officer and rejoin the Ghana Navy.
The USNA is still teaching the chosen applicants from prior years, and they are doing incredibly well. It is believed that the nominees’ consistent excellence will promote Ghana favorably and yield high-caliber officers for the Ghana Navy. In this sense, your prestigious institution’s help is once again greatly needed in attracting the most suitable applicants to compete for the position.
How to Apply
Applications must be submitted by qualified individuals and must include copies of the WASSCE, BECE, and birth certificates. Due to time constraints, applications must be received by this headquarters by Monday, October 28, 2024, at the latest.
This will make it possible to finish the GAF and USNA screening procedures and submit the qualified candidates to the USNA on schedule. For any questions, contact Lieutenant Commander Stephen Yaw Adjei-Djan, the liaison officer, at ddnt@navy.mil.gh, with copies to navsec@navy.mil.gh.
The Ghana Navy uses this chance to assure you that you will receive its utmost attention.
