INDONESIA WORK AND RESIDENCE PERMIT

You probably already have a job offer if you’re planning to apply for an Indonesian work visa. If you don’t have a facilitator (employer) in Indonesia who can assist you in obtaining a work permit, you cannot file for an Indonesian work visa.

The lengthy and bureaucratic KITAS application process (typically called KITAS) can take many months.

INDONESIA WORK VISA

The majority of the work involved in obtaining an Indonesian work visa falls on the employer, who must also secure your limited stay visa and resident permit. This is due to the fact that most of the work must be done in Indonesia. While the employee is responsible for supplying them with the required paperwork.

TYPES OF INDONESIA VISAS AND PERMITS

Like the majority of nations, Indonesia offers a selection of visas for visitors from abroad. For those who want to work in Indonesia, there are two different types of visas available:

Izin Tinggal Terbatas, or ITAS

Alternatively known as ITAS, a limited-stay permit. The Immigration General Directorate of Indonesia may grant an ITAS to foreign nationals via a regional immigration office. Visa Izin Tinggal Terbatas (VITAS), an Indonesian limited-stay permission visa, is also required before a person can obtain an ITAS.

Kartu Izin Tinggal Tetap, or KITAP

A permanent stay visa is referred to as a KITAP. A skilled migrant who now has obtained an ITAS at a minimum of three straight may be granted a KITAP.

REQUIREMENTS FOR INDONESIA VISAS AND WORK PERMITS

Throughout the application procedure for a work visa, both the employer and the employee must submit a number of documents.

Employers have to offer:

  • A business permit
  • Their tax-identification NPWP number
  • An Indonesia Trade Coordinating Board capital registration permit (BKPM)
  • A duplicate of the sponsorship card (KTP)
  • A copy of the KTP Wajib Lapor report from a local employee
  • A single piece of paper with the company’s letterhead on it
  • The business’s domicile certificate
  • Permission documents for the employer’s place of business

Throughout the application procedure for a work visa, both the employer and the employee must submit a number of documents.

The following documents must be submitted by the employee:

  • A duplicate of their passports
  • Evidence of health coverage
  • Colored passport photographs
  • A duplicate of the worker’s highest degree in education, with the employer’s stamp and signature.
  • A duplicate of the applicant’s resume, which also needs to be endorsed and signed
  • A work certification demonstrating the applicant’s five or more years of related experience

PROCEDURES TO APPLY FOR AN INDONESIA WORK VISA

If you have already secured a job lined up, the following procedures must be followed in order to receive an Indonesia work visa:

  • The Indonesian government must approve the hiring of you by your employer. Your employer requests a work visa for Indonesia.
  • Your employer submits an application for a limited or temporary work visa.
  • You must submit your application for an Indonesian work visa at the nearest Indonesian embassy or consulate.
  • The Immigration Division will provide your ITAS once you have obtained a VITAS (visa) and have arrived in Indonesia.
  • Apply with your local municipality’s population office just after Immigration Department has granted your temporary assignment permission to obtain a Registration Certificate for Temporary Resident.
  • Apply for the “Foreign Workers Work Permit” at the Ministry of Manpower by going there.
