Role & Responsibilities:

The right person will provide a reliable and consistent clearing and forwarding service for all imports and exports to support manufacturing, maintenance, and trade activities in Ghana and some west African markets.

You will talk and work with Statutory Institutions, Clearing, and Forwarding Agents to make sure that our processes for importing and exporting are trustworthy.

The main responsibilities will be:

• Coordinate activities to reduce the costs of importing and exporting by talking to suppliers and service providers often to make sure import and export delivery dates are met on time.
• Process statutory exemptions, regulatory permits and licenses, and other government approvals for import and export operations.
• Help the import and export team with freight forwarding and customs clearance to make sure that contracts are followed and that logistics and supply chain solutions are made on time and at a good price.
• Follow the company’s accounting procedures, which include checking all invoices and shipping manifests to make sure they are in line with tariff and Customs rules.
• Supervises a group of people by setting up work schedules and sending out shipping instructions to make sure that delivery times and places are all in sync.
• Keeps in touch with agents, brokers, transporters, and warehouses to make sure that all import and export containers are visible.
• Coordinate with Shipping Lines and Forwarders about billing, charges, and other related issues.
• Prepare shipping instructions and documents and coordinate bookings with carriers for export orders
• Coordinating with the accounts department to make sure payments are made to suppliers on time.

Requirements

• Understand all of the important legal and business issues in the supply chain.
• Ability to deal with different business drivers and variables and solve real-world problems.
• Having the ability to do more than one thing at once.
• Proven ability to work well as part of a team.
• Both written and oral communication skills are very good.
• Having the ability to work under stress.
• A bachelor’s degree or higher in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, CILT, or a similar field.
• At least five years’ worth of experience in a similar job.
• Good knowledge of how to use PowerPoint and Excel. Experience working in an FMCG company with people from different cultures.
